The Idolmaster 2

The Idolmaster 2 is a console raising simulation game released exclusively in Japan by Namco Bandai Games on February 24, 2011. The game is a sequel to The Idolmaster, and follows the career of a producer who works for the fictional integrated 765 Production and 961 Production idol agencies and has to work with a selection of thirteen pop idols. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 on October 27, 2011. It has been adapted into an anime television series and it will be adapted into an anime film.

The Idolmaster 2 Plot

Set in the same universe of The Idolmaster Dearly Stars, the idols of 765 Production have hit a popularity wall individually. As the new producer, the player must help them raise their popularity and take care of them individually and as a trio unit. They'll also face new rivals, such as 765 Pro's Ryūgū Komachi and 961 Pro's Project Jupiter, a male idol unit.

Unlike the previous games, The Idolmaster, The Idolmaster Live For You! and The Idolmaster SP, The Idolmaster 2 is set in the same universe as The Idolmaster Dearly Stars, where Miki, Hibiki and Takane never joined 961 Pro and were part of 765 Pro since the beginning. The player can choose between the same idols of the first game plus Miki, Hibiki, and Takane, except Azusa, Iori, Ami and Ritsuko, which now form the independent unit Ryūgū Komachi with Ritsuko as their producer.
