Dance Dance Revolution Universe

Dance Dance Revolution Universe is the thirteenth home version of Dance Dance Revolution released in the United States. It was released by Konami on February 27, 2007, for the Xbox 360 video game console - the first DDR game on a seventh generation console. About 65 songs are available in total in this version. The game was announced in a press release by Konami on May 9, 2006, and unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles that same day. As with the Ultramix series for the original Xbox, Universe makes extensive use of Xbox Live, including online play, player ranking, and downloadable song packs via purchase with Microsoft Points. This game also features music from Chris Brown, Verbalicious, Cascada, Jamiroquai, New Order, Goldfrapp, Kylie Minogue, The Sugarhill Gang, Depeche Mode, and others.

DDR Universe is among the first Xbox 360 titles that takes advantage of a Fall 2006 firmware update that adds 1080p display capability to the console. The game can also display in 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i.

Of note, Universe is the first DDR game to include winning songs from a new annual contest held by BroadJam in partnership with Konami. The winning songs included There's a Rhythm, GO! , Grandolin, and Race Against Time.
