I hope that you, as a reader, agree with me that the pages of CINEMA-X magazine
are looking better and better as each issue rolls off the presses. The very few
bugs that attempted to interfere with the work flow, after the move of our headquarters
to the west coast, have been exterminated. Speaking for the staff, California
is a splendid state. We are glad we are here.
When a man receives an invitation from Seka, The Blonde Goddess of the screen,
his mind has a tendency to wander during the work day, and he leaves his offfice
rather abruptly. In the company of Sharon Fiore, our slender and sexy Subscriptions
Department manager, I showed up embarrassingly early at Seka's home for a gourmet
dinner prepared by a nymph in a tank top and marvelously brief shorts.
Seeing Seka amid pots and pans, whipping up a fabulous feast of pork chops, mashed
potatoes and gravy, greens and fluffy golden biscuits made from skkrrraatch is
a far cry fom seeing her making love to some lucky man on the silver screen. In
my standards of women, because of her real-person qualities and her heart of gold,
Seka is in the Top Ten.
With the shapely image of Seka still on my mental screen, I flew to New York City
on the 28th of August to help Gloria Leonard celebrate her birthday with co-workers
from her High Society magazine staff. Her home was jammed with east coast film
stars and distributors and close friends who must have noticed, as I did, that
in spite of the stress of being a screen superstar and a woman who has come to
the top in a field that's rough for the strongest man, Publisher Gloria Leonard
looks more lovely than ever! She's in my Top Ten, too — a Lady of Ladies.
In the quiet of the plane on my flight west to California, the hubbub of the holidays
gave way to serious thought about CINEMA-X Review magazine and where we are going
with it. Being the best in our field is gratifying, but not quite enough. We want
new faces, new figures, new talent.
The doors of our west coast headquarters are standing wide open to our readers
who are professional photographers or writers, and to those beautiful feminine
creatures who have a yen to be movie stars or nude models. Think about yourself,
your aspirations and career dreams. Put those thoughts on paper and envelope them
to me at CINEMA-X Magazine, 8745 Shirley Avenue, Northridge, California 91324.
I'll do my best to keep the lines of communication open to you, and let serious
inquirers learn of the opportunities to have your words appear in print, and your
faces and figures grace the pages of a magazine that is giving our so-called competition
a strong shove off the newsstands.
New departments and new special features that are in our production plans call
for expansion of the staffs to create them. The need is here. Join us. When, in
issues to come, you'll see what we've done together, you too will say . . . Now!
