|"Let's start with what I don't mean by sexy," MSNBC's
Erik Lundegaard began his commentary on this year's sexiest sirens. "I
don't mean pretty. Sexy is balance. Cool and hot at the same time. Interest
and disinterest. It's not passive but it's not in a hurry either."
On balance, we can't wait to show you who's pricked our interest...
"One of the best things for a woman to hear is that she is sexy,"
gushed Scarlett Johansson when informed she'd won FHMs 2006 "Sexiest
Woman" pole. "I'd like to thank the readers for the huge compliment."
Our readers also get huge for Scarlett, but since she—and all the
rest of the "usual sex•pects" selected for the FHM Top Ten—have
regularly and recently appeared in Sleuth (Scarlett on the "Ingenudes"
cover just 3 issues ago}, we've endeavored to uncover some erotic eyefuls
you might not be as familiar with. And we all know what that breeds...
"In sex," Vogue opines, "as in architecture, less is more."
Sleuth more or less agrees, and so while some of our choices might not have
shown it all—Paige Davis, Holly Randall, Vanessa Minnillo and Jessica
Biel come to mind—what we've seen is "choice." As our mid-point
pick, No. 12 Sharon Stone, put it: "What is sexy is the freedom to
choose what you wear." Or choose not to...
My daddy always told me that "them that talks about it, ain't doing
it," and the same would seem to apply to celebrity sex. Numerous recent
"Sexiest" polls have put Victoria's Secret model Adriana Lima
near the top, but the Brazilian beauty implied this March that she's still
a virgin: "Sex is for after marriage," she told GQ. "Men
have to respect that this is my choice. If there's no respect, that means
they don't want me." So we left her out...
More than twice Adriana's age, fellow supermodel Elle MacPherson (p. 50)
is hotter than ever: "Listen, I'm single at the moment, so everything
is joyous and spontaneous" when it comes to sex, she told Barbara Walters
this May. "I have lots of people in my life." And she feels better
about herself todaythan
when she was younger: "I have to say I had an amazing body and I didn't
appreciate it," the Aussie Amazon admits. "I was all breasts and
legs and hair." Not to mention Down Under...
"Most women in their 20s aren't particularly sexy to me," MSNBC's
Lundegaard ends where we began jthe vast majority of our ladies are over
30). "They've got this stuff, and boys like it, and that seems enough:
Here I am, entertain me." We trust that this will...
