DESCRIPTION The Falkland islands are an overseas territory of Britain, and the flag, hoisted first in 1948 symbolizes that association. The badge features a ram that represents the sheep industry of the islands, and the ship (the Desire), was the ship used by John Davies, the man that discovered the islands in 1592.
