At 11,000 feet above sea level, Bolivia's capital city of La Paz is the most elevated capital city in the world.
The country's population
is 8 million, with approximately 16 people per square mile. Official languages are Aymara, Quechua and Spanish. The currency is the Boliviano. Most of the population lives on the elevated plateau between ranges of the Andes Mountains in cities like Sucre and Oruro. Tropical rain forests cling to the eastern slopes of the Andes where Bolivia is tropical and underdeveloped.
