Wolverine Comic Books

This is Volume 2 of the 6 Volumes of the Wolverine Series of Comic Books. It stars the X-Men member Wolverine.

It started publication in 1988 and lasted until 2003 when it was relaunched after issue 189. The original creative team consisted of writer Chris Claremont and penciler John Buscema. Claremont described the series as "high adventure rather than super heroics, sort of a combination of Conan meets Terry and the Pirates." As a visual manifestation of the series's break from the traditional superhero genre, throughout Claremont's run Wolverine wears either civilian clothes or a mask-less, all black outfit instead of his superhero costume, and costumed characters in general were few and far between. Nearly half of the series's run was written by Larry Hama.

Wolverine is a fictional character, a superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel. He is commonly known as Logan. Wolverine is a mutant who possesses animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, and a healing factor that allows him to recover from virtually any wound, disease, or toxin at an accelerated rate. The healing factor also slows down his aging process, enabling him to live beyond a normal human lifespan. His powerful healing factor enabled him to survive having the near-indestructible metal alloy adamantium bonded to his skeleton. He is most often depicted as a member of the X-Men, Alpha Flight, or later the Avengers.

As of April 2013, 323 issues and 11 annuals of Wolverine comics have been published.
